Owning the means of production called "knowledge"
from Division between intellectuals and organizational people
Marx argued that the greatest change brought about by Capitalism. in society was the alienation of workers.
These workers did not own the means of production. They could only produce by borrowing increasingly expensive machines from capitalists.
Knowledge workers also require tools for production.
Expert in handling tools
Moreover, capital investment in tools that knowledge workers need is likely to be much higher than that for any physical laborer's tools. However, such capital investment cannot be productive unless it is accompanied by the means of production that knowledge workers own, namely knowledge. In addition, investment in education for knowledge workers far exceeds that for physical laborers.
Manual laborers (≒Issues related to the dignity of service workers) have a higher cost of education (learning) compared to knowledge workers
However, I think that knowledge workers themselves can learn as described in creative destruction#60dc71ff09c5f20000a4d246
